Photo of the Day – Baphoun Temple, Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Our next stop was the Baphoun Temple, which is best known for its three-tiered temple mountain built and dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. This Baphoun style of architecture is also referred to as a pyramid temple. It was built in the mid 11th century and is quite well-preserved. We enjoyed walking up the stone tiers, which in spots were very steep. This is one of the smaller temples that we visited.
