Photo of the Day – Ta Prohm Temple, Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap, Cambodia

With its sprawling roots and majestic trees Ta Prohm is one of the most picturesque and popular tree-temples in the Angkor Park. It gained even more popularity after being featured in the Tomb Raider film. This temple was certainly one of my favourites just from the sheer intrigue of crumbling stone wrapped in gigantic roots. The temple was built in the 1100s and is considered by many as the most atmospheric temple in the complex. It feels like its stone has been swallowed by the jungle and the crumbling towers are bathed alternately with shadow and light.
